Launch of the Wits node of the CBTBR

The Wits node of the CBTBR was officially launched on Tuesday the10th of May 2005 at the National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. This event was hosted by Belinda Bozzoli, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at Wits and the guest speaker was Dr. Adi Paterson from the Department of Science and Technology, and other speakers included Mr. John Robertson, CEO of the NHLS, and Valerie Mizrahi.

Attendees of the launch also shared first-hand experience of a true research environment as Bavesh Kana took the visitors on a guided tour through the newly refurbished CBTBR laboratory. (See "Lab renovations at the Wits node - April 2005" for pictures of the renovation process).

This significant occasion was also covered by SABC TV and Valerie Mizrahi was interviewed by SABC TV (aired on the Africa Channel and SABC2), Talk Radio 702 and Radio Islam.
